• Available by the metre, as a sample (approx. 10cm × 10cm), or as a full roll (35 metres)

Working with Buckram

• Very stiff and springy — press flat before cutting to remove any curl from the roll
• Weight corners down while cutting to keep the fabric flat
• Often cut on the cross grain to allow slight give
• Do not add seam allowances — too stiff to include in seams
• Cut exactly to size and attach with machining or herringbone stitch
• Note: the sizing agent may wash out

Sewing Guide

• Thread: Polyester or cotton
• Machine needle: Size 100/16, large stitch
• Hand needle: Size 5–6 (note: very difficult to hand-sew)
• Pressing: Hot iron
• Care: Dry clean only
